London

JETAA London had a great 2021 and are looking forward to even more events in 2022. We will be hosting the AGM (and first in-person meet-up of 2022) at The Somers Town Coffee House on February 24th . The evening will kick off at 19:30, and we welcome all members, old and new. It's a great chance to help run events, meet and collaborate with new people, and shape the future of our chapter. There will also be the chance to vote on officer role. The current roles are: chair; vice chair; treasurer; communications officer. North East

JETAA North East have been giving out craft packs and holding artsy sessions to make all sorts of things. We really enjoyed hanging out and trying Japanese crafts together. 

Japanese lessons will also recommence from April. Classes will be held through zoom and be at an intermediate level, advanced and Conversation classes.

All are welcome to hang out and do some crafts with us. For more information, contact Northeastchair@jetaa.org.uk 

 

 

Scotland

JETAA Scotland is still hosting monthly meet ups online via Zoom to catch up and generally support each other through the pandemic. We meet online on the first Friday of every month at 8pm. If you did not receive a link by email, please email the Scotland Chair scotlandchair@jetaa.org.uk to get the link. All JETAA and JETs from anywhere in the world are welcome to attend.

North West

JETAA North West have been hosting some exciting lectures this year and are looking forward to hosting even more.

Please join us for the first of in our 2022 series of lectures and talks organised by the Japan Exchange and Teaching
Programme Alumni Association of the Northwest (JETAA NW) and Japan Society of the Northwest (JSNW).

This lecture by Jennifer Lynch, a long-standing committee member of the JSNW and specialist in Japanese art, will explore the themes and techniques used in the production of the famous Japanese woodblock prints of the so-called “Floating World” of the Edo Period, known as Ukiyo-e( 浮世絵
