JETAA London winter drinks
Last Friday ex-JETs gathered in a characterful pub in Soho for a few Friday drinks. It was great to welcome some new faces to the London Chapter and it ended up being quite an international crowd. The force was strong with Nagasaki JETs with no less than three people from different parts of the southern prefecture!
After talking just a little while all kinds of connections and similarities became apparent and everyone enjoyed reminiscing about their JET life, whether it was quite recent or more distant.
The special thing about the JETAA organisation is we are part of this fantastic family of people who love adventure, travel and in particular love Japan! Everyone you meet has a similar background and their own funny story of "this one time in Japan...". The JETAA Chapters are a great way to maintain that tie to Japan and make friendships that can last a lifetime or just be a real comfort, especially when you're new to a big city like London, or back living in your hometown where you feel disconnected from your JET life.
Come along to our next event and meet other like-minded people – you may also connect with another ex-JET from your own prefecture!
We have rescheduled karaoke to the Friday 8th March. It's £21 total for 2 hours of karaoke and you can BYOB (absolute bargain in London!). Check out our events calendar on the JETAA UK website or the event on our Facebook page for all details and the link to buy tickets.
On Saturday 6th April we will hold a walking tour of London featuring key photographic opportunities – details to follow!
